Power Amplifier — The Stave for Returning
This stave doesn’t ask where you’re going. It only promises you’ll come back.

The grimoire says:
A Power Amplifier is to be inscribed on lignite and the grooves colored with blood, then placed between your breasts, and you will not suffer evil and will return home safe and sound, whether you travel by sea or land.
It doesn’t promise ease. But it promises return.
What You’ll Need
A small slab of lignite — the soft, black, coal-like stone from deep in the earth
A sharp tool for carving
Blood — your own, willingly given, enough to fill the stave’s lines
A moment of stillness before your journey begins
Etch the stave carefully. Let the lines carry your breath. Let your blood soak in slowly. The stone drinks it better when you’re calm. And when you press it to your chest — between your breasts, against your heart — speak:
Ég hverf til baka óskaddað/ur,
yfir land, yfir sjó,
því að kraftur minn dvínar ekki.
(I return unharmed, over land, over sea, for my power does not fade.)
How to Use It
This is a stave of resilience, not invisibility. It doesn’t hide you — it holds you.
Wear it on a string, against your bare chest
Wrap it into your clothing, close enough to feel its weight
Place it beneath your sleeping place on the night before departure
Its job is simple: keep the line open between where you are and where you belong.
When It Works Best
Before travel, especially into uncertain or chaotic terrain
During times of soul-fragmentation — when you feel scattered, unfocused, or drained
When you’ve been carrying too many people’s energy, and need to amplify your own
This stave doesn’t just protect. It boosts your power, like bellows to flame — not to fight, but to endure. To return whole.

Ask yourself:
What part of me forgets to come home after I’ve left?
What has drained my power, and what might I feel if it fully returned?
What would it mean to be safe in myself, no matter where I go?
This stave doesn’t answer. But it travels with you while you look.
And when it’s time, it brings you back.
